John Wilson Whitlock

John Wilson Whitlock died on May 24, 2011 at his home. John was born December 24, 1980 the son of David Evan and Ellen Elisabeth Deal Whitlock in High Point, North Carolina. John received his education in the local schools. He was an avid sports fan and loved the Dodgers and the New Orleans Saints. A prolific reader and lover of books John loved to discuss literature. He was also a lover of pirate lore. His family will remember fondly his sense of humor.

John was preceded in death by his father and is survived by his mother of the home in addition to his brother, David Evan Whitlock, Jr. and two sisters and their husbands, Dorsey Virginia Whitlock Hayes and her husband Dr. Sherrill Watson Hayes and Leslie Ann Whitlock Andresen and her husband Ryan David Andresen. John is also survived by his nieces and nephews who he adored, Olivia Crumpler Hayes, Sam Watson Hayes and Grey David Andresen.

A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, May 27, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church on Chestnut Avenue in High Point, North Carolina with Bishop Thomas Stockton officiating. A private interment where John will be placed with his father, will be held prior to the service. The family will receive visitors in the Asbury Room following the service and at other times at the family home.
