Ed was born, January 23, 1938, in High Point, NC to Joe and Ruby Jobe Hill. He graduated from High Point High School and attended High Point College. Prior to his health failing, Ed started and taught the New Horizons Bible Sunday School Class at Westchester Baptist Church where he was a faithful member for eight years.
Ed enjoyed spending time pier fishing with family and friends. He spent the early part of his career in sales in the clothing industry. In later years he was a sales representative in the material handling field. He retired from Dougherty Equipment Company of Virginia.
Ed is survived by his wife of 29 years, Linda Boulding Hill, of the home; his son, Kevin Hill of
Winston Salem, NC; and his children Holden, Kennedy, Catherine and Samuel of High Point, NC; daughter, Kelly Hill Sanchez and husband Cesar and their children, Sophie, Jesse, Ellie Grace and Abigale of Harlingen, TX; and a brother Carlton Hill of Randleman, NC. Ed was predeceased by his parents, and a brother, James Hill.
The family will receive friends at Westchester Baptist Church Monday, November 2, 2015, between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. A Memorial service will be held beginning at 12:00 p.m. with Dr. Eric Peacock officiating. Interment will be private at a later date.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Hospice Home at High Point for their loving and compassionate care during Ed's time there.
