

Ms. Judith W. Johnson, long time resident of the High Point area, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 25at North Carolina Baptist Hospital. Born January 21, 1941 in Columbus County, North Carolina to Will and Mattie Watts, she met the love of her life, James (Jim) Stanfield Johnson at the Historic Colonial Inn in Hillsboro and married in 1960.
She earned an Associates Degree in Chemistry from Guilford Technical College. She was a dedicated social worker for Guilford County. In later life, she worked as an assistant editor for the High Point Enterprise. Very active until the time of her death, she was employed at Cornerstone Healthcare.
She enjoyed fishing at Lake Wakayama, dancing with friends, time spent with her children and grandchildren, bird watching and caring for her gardens. She was a faithful member of the Red Hat Ladies. She enjoyed conversation with her family and friends about her faith in her Lord Jesus Christ.
Ms. Johnson is survived by her two sisters, Kathy McClay (Doug) and Karen Watts. Also, six children, Stan Johnson (Kim) , Donna Marie Johnson, Marlene Thomas (Gerald), Darlene Johnson, Katherine Johnson, Clay Johnson (Julie). She also leaves behind six grandchildren, Forris Barnard, Joshua Johnson, Kaitlyn, Kristen Johnson, Emily Johnson, and Colton Johnson. She was proceeded in death by her husband James Johnson and her brother John Watts.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 29, at 1:00pm at Sechrest Funeral Chapel on 1301 Lexington Ave in High Point. Visitation will also be at Sechrest on Thursday, August 28, 6-8pm.
