On December 31, 1950, he married Florrie M. Russell. He worked as a superintendent for Lorillard Tobacco Company for 32 years and retiring in 1990.
Mr. Kearns was preceded in death by his parents, Leon W. and Dollie G. Kearns; one sister, Helen (Robert) Williams; and two brothers, Malcolm L. Kearns and M. Reece Kearns.
Mr. Kearns is survived by his wife, Florrie R. Kearns; two daughters, Sharon K. (Mark) Aderhold and Tena K. (Terry) Davis; and three grandchildren, Alex Ball, Bradley Davis, and Claire Davis.
Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 PM October 14, 2016, at Sechrest Funeral Service of High Point.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM October 14, 2016, at Sechrest Chapel with Rev. Jeff Martin of Christ United Methodist Church - High Point, officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
