Mrs. Cain was born in Catawba County, NC, on September 9, 1929, to Lonnie Jones and Lucy Beal Jones. She grew up in Kannapolis, NC. Margaret attended the University of Pennsylvania.
Margaret worked for Guilford Technical Community College (GTCC) for twenty years, where she helped to establish the dental hygiene education program. During her tenure there, she worked at GTCC in administration, and made the curriculum outcome based. She worked there for a total of thirty-four years.
On November 26, 1956, Margaret married Robert Brown Cain. Margaret joined Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. She was a very active member there and worked in the toddler room in the nursery for twenty years.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Robert Brown Cain.
Surviving are her children; Mary Cain-Murphy and her husband John of Raleigh and Linda Robbian and her husband Mike of High Point; has five grandchildren, Alice Brochu (Keegan), Kristin Lintelman (Kurt), Hunter Murphy, Eric Robbian, and Emily Robbian; two great-grandchildren, Lachlan Brochu and Ophelia Brochu; brother, Ben Jones and sister, Shirley Grahl.
A Memorial Service will be conducted Tuesday, March 13th at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Jeff Patterson and Rev. Jared Stine officiating. Inurnment in the church columbarium will be private. Following the service, the family will receive guests in the Asbury Room of the church.
