Mrs. Shields was born in Spartanburg, SC, March 20, 1947, a daughter of the late Charles O. Linder and Minnie Green Linder. Mary Frances was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed fishing, sewing and crossword puzzles. She was preceded in death by her son, Charles Eugene Shields.
Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Thomas L. Shields; two daughters, Diane Mounce and Pam Campbell and husband Danny Campbell; six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
A celebration of Mary Frances’s life will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Davis Funerals & Cremations Chapel by Pastor Bruno Wolf. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Cemetery.
