

Mrs. Mary “MeeMaw” Johnson Tucker, 90, a former resident of Providence Place, passed away Saturday, September 06, 2014 at Westchester Manor. She is now in the presence of the Lord and can see Jesus and hear the Angels sing.
Mrs. Tucker was born in Hamptonville, April 26, 1924, a daughter of Walter Johnson and Ollie Ireland Johnson. She was employed at High Point Hospital for 27 years. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Zeno Clifton Tucker and two brothers and sister in laws, Raymond and DeEte Johnson and John William and Linda Johnson. Mary was a devoted member of Hilliard Memorial Baptist Church as long as her health permitted and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary E. “Libby” Woodell and husband Harold of Seneca, SC; a son, Michael S. Tucker and wife Donna of High Point; five grandchildren, Carrie (Tony) Craven, Jennifer (Brian) Woodell-May, Katherine (Guy) Haltom, Marcus Tucker and Amy (Brad Suther) Woodell; and 10 great-grandchildren; brother and sister in law, John and Ruth Tucker.
A Celebration of Mary’s Life will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Davis Funerals and Cremation Chapel by Rev. Jack Rose. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 1 p.m. until the service. Memorials may be directed to Hilliard Memorial Baptist Church, 2311 Westchester Dr., High Point, NC 27262.
