Mrs. Hopkins was born in Guilford County on August 6, 1927 to Clarence and Ruby Toomes Garrett. She had been a resident of this area most of her life and was a loving and caring mother and grandmother to her children and family. She was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Ray Hopkins in March 2013, and also by her husband George Lewis Hopkins on July 13, 1988.
Surviving are two daughters; Brenda Dickens and husband Larry of Asheboro and Kay Fiorentino and husband Paul of Staley and two sons:
Larry Hopkins and wife Norma of Brown Summit and Rick Hopkins and wife Paula of Greensboro. Mrs. Hopkins was one sister, Kathleen Mills of High Point and eight grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 am in the chapel of Sechrest Funeral Service in High Point by the Reverend Jerry Mills. Interment will follow in Oakwood Memorial Park Cemetery.
