

Perry was born in Stokes County, June 27, 1944, a son of the late Gilmer and Zena Mae Manuel Shaw. To describe Perry is to say he was a hard working man and a very dedicated family man. He worked for Welborn Plumbing for 28 years and then was a self employed plumbing contractor, associated with Burton Builders. He was a loving man who was dedicated to his wife, daughters, grandsons, granddaughter and great-granddaughter. Perry was a man who loved life and enjoyed traveling with his family on trips to enjoy life. He was a person who definitely did things his way! He knew what he loved in life. Perry was preceded in death by four sisters, Talley, Betty, Bonnie and Judy and two brothers, Galen and Larry and a granddaughter, Chasity Ann Slate.
He leaves behind his loving family members, his terrific wife of 53 years, Janice; two daughters, Ronda Jean Shaw and Linda Shaw Hilton and fiancé, Mike Galloway; two grandsons, Dillon Chesson and Chance Bubby Chandler; a granddaughter, Candace Ann Hilton; great-granddaughter, Skye Ann Hilton; five sisters, Karon (Larry) Shaw, Glenda (Gregg) Stabler, Linda (Roger) Beshears, Wanda (Billy) Cotner and Donna Shaw; three brothers, Odis (Rilla) Shaw, Don (Faye) Shaw, Gary (Sandra) Shaw.
A Celebration of Perry’s life will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Davis Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Ray Calhoun. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 12:30 p.m. until the service.
