Petra Johanna Lilly peacefully left this world surrounded by love and light on May 24, 2023.
Born on May 18, 1943, in Manheim, Germany, Petra immigrated to the United States after meeting her husband and the love of her life, Elwood Thomas Lilly Jr., in 1967. She was an amazing mother to three daughters; Anke Lilly Clodfelter (1967 - 2018), Tanya Lilly Thomas, and Kathryn Lilly.
Anyone who knew Petra knew that she lived life to the fullest. She was a dedicated and successful career woman, an avid reader, enjoyed travelling, the opera, classical music, gourmet food, and wine. She had the gift of giving and changed the lives of so many without ever asking for anything in return. We are forever fortunate to call her Sweetheart, Mom, Omi, and Friend.
Petra is survived by Elwood Lilly, Jr. (of the home), her daughter Tanya Thomas (Mike), her daughter Kathryn Lilly, her grandson Aiden Thomas, her son-in-law Byron Clodfelter, and her beloved chiweenie, Lucy.
There will be a celebration of Petra's life on Friday June 16, 2023 at 3:00PM at the home of Petra and Elwood Lilly.
The family would like to thank all the caregivers at Hospice Home who showered Petra with compassion and kindness and ask that any memorial donations are made to Hospice of the Piedmont, High Point.
