Polly was born in High Point, March 12, 1930, a daughter of the late Henry Ray and Maude Parker Helmstetler. She worked in retail sales for many years and retired from the Oak Hollow Golf Course Grill. Polly was preceded in death by her husbands, Byron Hubert Walker and Dallas Ray Lane; a son, Ronald Lee Walker, a step-son, David Lane and 11 siblings and a special friend, Donald Hanes.
Surviving are her sister, Barbara Reid and husband Jack; three step-daughters, Gloria Verstegen, Gwendolyn Jacobson and Gail Schwalen; four step-sons, Darrell, Danny, Donovan and Richard Lane; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Polly’s Life will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Davis Funerals and Cremations Chapel by Rev. Bobby Loving. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 1 until 2 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Baptist Children’s Home or Hospice of the Piedmont.
