Shelva was born May 20, 1937 in Guilford County, NC, the daughter of Jonathan Seth Thompson and Mamie Solomon Thompson. She graduated from Sumner High School and practiced accounting in Orlando, FL where she lived most of her adult life. With her quick wit, sweet smile and genuinely good heart, Shelva made many faithful friends. She never lost her endearing sense of humor and always shared a joke and a hug with those she met. While her family is saddened by our loss, we are comforted by knowing that the angels in heaven are smiling with her there.
Shelva is survived by sisters, Ms. Erma Woodfin-Reynolds of Greensboro, Mrs. Patricia McLean of Burlington, Mrs. Ronda Andrews of Troy, Mrs. Monieca Sharrard of High Point, Mrs. Barbara Ozment of Greensboro and her best buddy, her brother-in-law, Jim Sharrard, who watched sports, bought lottery tickets and talked politics with her. She is also survived by her special girl, Mrs. Angie White of Orlando, FL. Shelva also has extended family that she was proud of and loved and little ones who considered her “my best friend.”
Funeral services for Ms. Peacock will be held at 11.00 am on Saturday, July 1, 2017 in the chapel at Sechrest Funeral Home. Family will greet friends immediately following the service. Interment will be at Vickrey United Methodist Church.
The family would like to thank all of Shelva’s special friends at Brookdale of High Point for their kind and loving care and friendship as well as the staff of Hospice Home for their solicitous and gentle care.
In lieu of flowers, Shelva would be honored by an act of kindness to another person especially someone who is alone. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262.
Arrangements by Sechrest Funeral Service.
