

Mr. Thurston James Sarvis, 72, passed away Friday, April 8, 2016 at the Hinkle Hospice Home. Mr. Sarvis was born on August 5, 1943 in Horry County, SC to the late Ronnie Elbert and Lena Mae Soles Sarvis. He was a member of Kernersville Church of Christ and owner-operator of Sarvis Roofing Company in High Point. Mr. Sarvis was a very dedicated, hardworking man who enjoyed fishing, collecting knives, and spending time with his grandchildren and family. Surviving are his wife, Nancy Thompson Sarvis of the home; daughter, Dana Mitchell and her husband Jack of High Point; son, Richard Sarvis and his wife Paula of High Point; five grandchildren, Andrea Green and her husband Joshua, Ricky Sarvis and his wife Emily, Jessica Wright and her husband Benjamin, Andrew Mitchell and his wife Lily, and Matthew Mitchell; and six great grandchildren, MacKenzie Green, MacKayla Green, Jackson Green, Breanna Wright, Brayden Wright, and Julianna Wright. Also surviving are one sister, Gail Thompson and one brother, Johnnie Sarvis, both of High Point; and sister-in-law, Faye Buffkin of Davidson. A celebration of Mr. Sarvis’ life will be held at 11 am Monday, April 11th in the chapel of Davis Funerals and Cremations, 976 Phillips Avenue, High Point, with Pastor Larry Hatfield officiating. Entombment will follow in the Floral Garden Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Sunday, April 10th at Davis Funerals and Cremations.
