Walt was a Navy veteran and a member of the Greensboro Barber Shop chorus. He was a retired lineman and a member of I.B.E.W. He was preceded in death by two sons, David Bower and Roger Wren; a sister, Rebecca Nale.
Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Helen Venable Bower; five sons, Danny and Sam Wren and wife Brenda, Robert and Tracy Wren and Dennis Bower and wife Denise; three sisters and a brother; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Walt’s Life will be held Friday at 7 p.m. in the Davis Funerals & Cremations Chapel by Rev. Sherman Sexton. The family will receive friends following the service until 8:30 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
