

Wanda Jean Alston, born on November 27, 1958, in Wadesboro, NC, passed away on January 23, 2026, at the age of 67. She was the cherished daughter of Walter Edward Leak and Willie Lee Leak. Wanda was a woman of many admirable qualities, known for being adventurous, gentle, humorous, kind-hearted, thoughtful, selfless, and compassionate.
Wanda married Milton Alston on May 5, 2002, and together they shared precious years of companionship and love. Preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Wanda leaves behind a legacy of warmth and kindness that will be cherished by all who knew her.
A woman of diverse interests, Wanda loved shopping, music, and dancing. She found joy in watching television and savoring a good meal. Her greatest pleasure, however, was spending time with her grandchildren, often connecting with them through FaceTime. Wanda had a huge heart and was known for her caring nature, always asking about the well-being of others.
Wanda's memory will be lovingly preserved by her four sons: Rodriguez, Travis, Carl, and Ben, and her four daughters: Carla, Tweety, Amber, and Angel. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren: Jordan Briggs, Elana Leak, Jaidiah Leak, Jemiah Leak, Rodriguez Leak Jr., Urijah Cheek, Traesen Cheek, Halima Cheek, Ayden Smith, Tae'Lynn Smith, BJ Smith, and Jazzy Smith, her brother Wayne Leak and a host of nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service to honor Wanda's life will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Sechrest-Davis Funerals and Cremations of High Point, NC.
Wanda Jean Alston will be remembered for her loving spirit and the joy she brought into the lives of those around her.
