I am crushed, to find just these last few minutes that Conner is gone. Although I only saw him a few scant times since Grendel's leaving, he frequently drifts through my mind and always will; he made a lasting imprint. Enjoy your never-ending walk.

Conner was a unique person and had an unforgettable personality.  Along with others, I considered him one of my dearest friends.  We went to Montreal together a number of years back and participated in an Incredible Landmark Program called Beyond Racism.  We had attended it in Greensboro as well.  It was an experimental, newly piloted course.  We were so moved by the course that we went to Montreal to take it a second time, which put a whole new slant on it, given the conflictual French and British History of that area.  

We went to lunch on our last day in Montreal and ate at an outdoor cafe.  One of the other participants from Montreal, a beautiful young woman with a sexy French accent waited on us and was telling us how she wanted to be a Forum leader.  I found her very enchanting indeed.  Conner noticed this and said, "Down boy!"

Conner was a unique spirit - kind, energetic, stubborn, thoughtful - and I consider myself fortunate to have known him. The world is brighter for his having been here.

Conner was someone I always counted on.  Though we disagreed on occasion, I always knew I had a partner in any way I needed one.  A man such as Conner is rare, and will be missed; I am very glad I knew him.

I had the good fortune to know Conner through a work association at Integritas, if only too briefly and only over the phone. However short and distant our time together, Conner still left a deep and positive impression.  I found him to be a patient teacher and thoughtful collaborator.  He was such a gentleman, and had a knack for debating with grace and good humor, always validating my opinions while expressing his own.  One of the things I adored about Conner was that when asked "How are you?” he gave a thoughtful and informative reply.  None of that "fine thanks" business for Conner - he told you the truth.  I will miss working with him, and reading the thoughts shared by others here makes me sorry to not have known him better.

What a shock. It seems like only yesterday we were together as a group - Doug, Ed, you, I and others. Many great memories - many great discussions. We all learned about the world, solved problem but best of all helped and supported each other. I shall miss you!

I will always remember our talks about politics.  He was a great friend and coach.  He will be deeply missed.

 Conner was studying Politics, math & physics (?), I was studying photography. We were about 20. He was a great photo subject & intellectual inspiration. The discussions as his boarding house were legendary for their scope & depth. The Wafco manor house was grand & a fine backdrop to our lives. He was ready for any situation, solving problems for fun. This earth has lost a grand mind, but I am sure he is analogizing & resolving wherever he is.

Conner was one of a kind. Assisting with him at Landmark seminars and Forums was an rewarding and educational experience. He was always willing to share his experiences and I admired him for his strong stand for what he beleived in. I will miss him sharing in the seminars.

I will truly miss Connor's wonderful smile and great sense of humor. He was someone I could call on anytime time and ask for his help and he would always say, "what do you need?" He was friend, assisting partner and someone that made my world a better place. love ya Conner

Conner was the man. He loved his car. He embodied service and assisting. I will miss you and the community will miss you!

Connor had integrity and commitment to making a difference in the lives of people.  He enrolled me in supporting the Hunger Project 20 years ago.  He will be remembered by all who knew him and we will "pass it on" to others.

He was a generous soul with a contagious laugh.  He made a difference in many peoples lives and stood for what he believed.  I believe he'll be sorely missed.

Conner is my parents' dear friend. Now that I have friends with kids, I can greatly appreciate the effort Conner put into making me and my brother feel special. He took part in many crucial moments and activities in our childhood, for which he is quite an important person in our lives. He taught us to fly kites.  He gave us advent calendars for Christmas every year (which is why I still believe it's not Christmas until you have your advent calendar). He gave us the Grimm's Fairy Tale Collection and The Polar Express. He gave me my first good scare when he surprised me at the back door on Halloween wearing a dragon mask and then held me while I cried and attempted to explain that it was not a real dragon at my back door. He built the box, affectionately called "The Blue Box", where we kept all our blocks (in elementary school), all our sports equipment  (in high school) and all dad's golf balls (in his retirement).  I'm so glad he had the opportunity to meet Evan's fiance, Lauren. He was able to see that with his contribution to our wonderful and well-rounded childhood, Evan was able to make such a wonderful choice in a wife. He will be missed very much by the Davis Family.

I had the fortunate opportunity to work with Conner.  I will miss not being able to discuss ideas and work through problems with him.  I knew he was always willing to help.  I found a picture that he sent to me several years ago from his office that I attached to share with others.

Connor was a very kind neighbor.  Many times, I enjoyed a great conversation with him.  We are sorry for your loss.  Cat and Jeff Shinn

Conner contributed so much to my own development that helps me reach for my dreams every day.  This is a gift that keeps on giving.  He will never depart in my mind because his own creations keep living in our community.  Blessings!

Conner made a huge difference in his very huge and extended community.  He will be missed.

Conner was a gentle soul, good and true. He was instrumental in teaching me how to coach. He left us in his own way, unassuming, not a bother, and going quietly to that place of unconditional love.

Lib, family, I am shocked and saddened at this news.  My early fond memories of Bill (I knew Lib & Bob first; so always called him Bill) were at UNC-G nearly 40 years ago.  We were active outdoorsmen in early 1970s and since.  At the Bear Den, in 2006-7, he and I spent days repainting the old 2-story farmhouse, and recalling good times.  Not surprisingly, it was Bill who most enjoyed the high ladder work, as did I.  He loved high places, even choosing to sleep in the barn loft, which Harriet forever feared we'd burn down: "NO candles!"  Kin, my heart goes out to you all.  God bless.

Conner was an honest-to-goodness, plain old great guy. He had the kind of caring that you just couldn't fake. I will miss him for sure.

So sorry to hear of Conner's passing. He made a huge difference for me in learning to coach and be coached in the SELP. I also remember him at the first Evening Session I ever went to, when I was considering my son's invitation to do the Landmark Forum. He was so shy and yet so committed to having conversations with "strangers" about this Landmark Forum thing. He approached many and made them feel seen and welcomed. I will remember him fondly.
