
Bill was born in Roanoke, VA, July 27, 1933, a son of the late Edward O. Nichols and Margie Sloan Nichols. A resident of High Point most of his life, he retired from Miller Desk. Bill was of the Baptist faith, was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed western movies. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Katie Moore Nichols; a grandson, Michael Lee Nichols; a sister, Shirley Moore and three brothers, Basil, Marvin and Orville Nichols.
Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Perdieu and Peggy Balderas and husband Artemio; three sons, Gene Nichols and wife Leslie, Bobby Nichols and wife Sandra and Michael Nichols and wife Sharon; 14 grandchildren, Melissa, Randy, William, Anthony, Nathan, Sara, Craig, Christopher, Nicole, Kenny, Brittany, Alicia, Casandra and Joshua; 9 great-grandchildren, Austin, Madison, Ciera, Jordan, Maggie, Preston, Issac, Olivia, Ethan (and two more on the way!).
A Celebration of Bill’s life will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Davis Funerals and Cremations Chapel by Pastor Ronnie Beane. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. The family wishes to express their special thanks to Don Wolfe of Tabernacle Baptist Church of High Point for leading Bill to the Lord and also to Hospice of the Piedmont for their loving care of our father. Memorials should be directed to Hospice.
