Left to cherish his memory are his loving children: Russell (Jennie Rudnitsky) Stringer, and Heather Stringer; his three grandchildren: Justin (Eilene Myers) Hart, Lily Hack, and Logan Hack; his sister, Susan (John) Headley; his sister-in-law, Sheridan Stringer; his seven nieces and nephews: Shannon, Art, Shari, Staci, Jeff (Gaye), Kevin (Martha), and Corey (Casey); and his former wife, Katherine Stringer.
Dennis was born April 3, 1946, in Detroit, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Watson and Clarice (Dawe) Stringer. Dennis proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, from 1966 until 1969. During his time in the service, Dennis was stationed at Kincheloe Air Force Base in the Upper Peninsula. Upon his honorable discharge, Dennis began his career as a carpenter, which took him all over the state of Michigan for twenty-five years. Dennis also worked as a sales associate at Home Depot for twenty years. In his free time, Dennis could always be found playing a round of golf with his family and friends. In fact, he even began a golf league with his brother in the early 1980’s that still plays! Dennis also loved to play softball. Some of his fondest memories were made on family trips to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and to the Soo Locks in the U.P. He was a wonderful man who will be greatly missed.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Watson and Clarice; and by his brother, Thomas Stringer.
