Gertrude Ann Grabowski

GRABOWSKI, GERTRUDE A. (Greta) of White Lake; Michigan, October 13, 2021; age 80; Beloved wife of Nicholas F. Grabowski, Loving mother of Catherine M. Derocher (Thomas) and Nicholas F. Grabowski II (Christine), Much-loved grandmother of Christopher, Rachel, and Isabelle Derocher, and Nicholas III, Jenna, and Jared Grabowski. Greta was born November 17, 1940 to Regina and Michael Rogowski in Detroit Michigan. She is survived by her three loving brothers and sister, Joseph (Christine), John, Michael (Barbara) Rogowski and Laurie Nichczynski and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Regina and Michael Rogowski, dear sister Barbara (Donald) Robertson and dear sister-in-law Joann Rogowski.

Greta graduated from Highland Park Nursing School in 1961 and worked as a registered nurse for 45 years. Greta retired from Pontiac General Hospital / North Oakland Medical Center where she worked on the maternity floor caring for countless moms and babies throughout her career. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and loved spending time outside gardening. Greta was warm and giving and had a great sense of humor. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church of White Lake for more than 50 years, Greta and Nicholas resided fifty four of their 58 years together in White Lake, Michigan.

The family will receive friends at the Elton Black funeral home at 3295 Highland Rd. Highland, Michigan on Thursday, October 21 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on October 22, 2021 at St. Patrick’s Church at 9086 Hutchins Rd.
