Gilbert M. Wilson II, age 71, of Newport, Michigan, passed away February 14, 2010 in Lake Suzy, Florida. Loving husband of Kathleen Wilson; dear father of Lynn (Greg) Swanson, Suzan (Vincent) DeMare, step father of Douglas (Elizabeth) Pulvirenti & Paul Pulvirenti, proud grandfather of 10, brother of Violet Butcher and Terrance Wilson. He was preceded in death by his wife Edwina, his son, Gilbert M. Wilson III, and daughter, Cheryl Rybak. Mr. Wilson was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. He loved his family and lived life to the fullest. The funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 22, 2010 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 2040 S. Commerce Rd., Walled Lake. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-8 p.m. at the Highland Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 3295. E. Highland Rd., Highland. Mr. Wilson will lie in state at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial donations may be made to American Lung Association.
