I know it has been a stressful few years, but peace is here for all. I'm sure Lew (the Polar Bear) will start a band upstairs.

I will always remember Lew. We grew up together. He lived two doors down from us. He was always known as “Sonny” to us neighborhood kids. My dad taught him music as he did a lot of the neighbor kids. We had a neighborhood band that practiced in our driveway once a week. He was a wonderful musician and a wonderful person. I was lucky to have his son Michael as my doctor last year when I underwent radiation. When he came into the room, I knew that Lew had to be his dad. He had that same smile.

I was in Lew's graduating class at Creston High School and remember him very well. We  were also in the band at  Creston. He was a true gentleman, I never saw Lew again after high school but remember very well. Charles Beswick

We were deeply saddened to learn of Lew's passing.  How well we remember him from our days at Creston High school in Grand Rapids.  We were all in the band together and had many great times.  John was a drummer and Jodie a drum majorette. We did see Lew again at one of our school reunions.  It might have been the 5oth.  How quickly the years pass bye.  Lew was a great guy and we will remember him always!  Our deepest sympathy to Diana and all the  family May you experience peace and comfort that only Jesus Christ can give.

Lew is a friend from my (our) youth. We grew up in the same Grand Rapids neighborhood,attended the same high school. He was my sponsor to membership in our fraternity at GR Junior College. While we haven't cross paths in many a year I will always remember him as a good friend. Reading what others have said about Lew it would appear that little has changed about the Lew I knew. My condolences to his family and to his sister Jill.

Lew was truly a great man and a legend as a Goodyear tire salesman.  I had the pleasure of working with him for many years in Michigan.  He loved life and made an impression on everyone he met.  Sincere condolences to Diana, his family and friends.  He will be missed.

My heart was deeply saddened yesterday when the phone rang and Diana informed me of the passing of Lew.
In the few years that I have had the pleasure of knowing Lew and Diana there are many memories.
Whenever I would visit or just go to pick up Lew to go to some Barbershop Chorus function there was Lew at the door with that huge smile and awesome handshake and of course a big hug from Diana. I always felt at home and welcomed in their beautiful home.
The stories we would share while being together were priceless. Watching Lew's expressions during singing when a Barbershop Chord would ring were also priceless to me. Such a showman.
His musical background was something he was very proud of but most of all he liked to talk about his lovely wife Diana and his three sons and their accomplishments.
I will miss my dear friend. The sorrow and grieving will pass but my memories will live on forever. Some day will will meet again.
