Martha Ann Middledorf

Martha Ann Middledorf, age 90, of Waterford, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2023, at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. Left to cherish her memory are her three children: Mark (Carla) Middledorf, Juliann (Kenneth) Baum, and David William Middledorf; her grandchildren: Cara (Landry) Grow, Ryan (Shelby) Middledorf, and Cayla (Stephen) Roman, Kassidy Baum, and Wyatt (Heidi) Baum; and her seven great-grandchildren: Lila, Avery, and Wilder Grow, Elena Sayers, and Eliana and Mila Roman.

Martha was born March 3, 1933, in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Carlton and Anna (Cobb) Chambers. After high school, Martha continued her education at Western Michigan University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in Education. Martha went on to become an elementary school teacher in Flat Rock, for five years. Martha loved to be around children, and she cherished the memories she made over the twenty years that she ran a daycare at her home. She and Julius Middledorf were married for many years until his passing on January 11, 2007. In her free time, Martha could always be found spending quality time with her grandkids, who she loved dearly. She held fond memories of the camping trips she and her family took over the years. Martha was a wonderful woman who will be dearly missed.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Carlton and Anna; her loving husband, Julius Middledorf; her grandson, Walker Garrett Baum; and her brother, William Chambers.

A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at the Highland Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 3295 E. Highland Road, Highland, Michigan 48356. Martha’s family will receive visitors on Saturday from 9:30 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. A burial will follow at Christian Memorial Gardens West in Rochester Hills, Michigan.
