Today, another anniversary of your death. The years have gone by and your daughters have grown up under your watch from heaven..they are smart, beautiful, loving and so very much like you.  I have told them stories of how you made us laugh and how much you adored them..how wonderful of a father and husband you were. I hope you see from heaven how we haven't and will never forget you.  How deeply you are and were loved by family and friends. You have 3 daughter now in college thriving academically and one who will be in college in a few short years..such a long way from where we started. They were born so early and so sick and I often tell them the story of how every day you drove 2 hours after work just to see us in the hospital. For month after month. You never missed a day no matter how tired you were. I hope and pray they will each find love like we found and find a man who can be as good to them as you were to me and to them. I will never forget your friendship and your unyielding love..Even now, all these years later, I do not regret a day of my life. The pain of losing you was still worth the beauty of loving you. May heaven be the adventure of your life, may God hold you close to Him, and may we all one day meet again in heaven.

This message is for my daughters....may you one day find a husband who touches your hand and finds your soul. My mom and I were looking at old photos today as we celebrate Journeys next birthday. It made me feel compelled to post here the beautiful marks you made in your life both with what you gave and what you left behind. Your light was so enormously bright and it continues in the lives of your 4 daughters as they navigate the world with the comfort of our love. Thank you for giving me everything you could of yourself and to our children. It has been a long road alone but I know you watch over them and God has been my constant in the storm. We always encouraged each other spiritually and in other ways. That has been a gift and blessing, your constant loving leadership and love..it will always stay with me and I hope and pray with our daughters also.

And remind me so much of you. They will start university this year. Our babies who were born 1.5lbs and 3.5months early are smart kind silly and wonderful.  I'm sure you watch from heaven and are so very proud of the wonderful people they are becoming. Please continue watching over them. You were the most amazing husband and father. They are lucky you were their dad and I was lucky to have you as my husband.  Thank you for so many beautiful years as your wife and best friend.  I hope and pray they find a love and marriage like we had. It was truly wonderful. I think of you most when the children hit milestones in their life we talk about you often and despite you not beside them I try to remind them of your love.  I truly feel they find joy in knowing just how much you loved them.

She would call your name at 1 years old. Looking for you and maybe feeling you near. Not a memory gets made without me reminding our daughters of your love for them. Thank you for the gift of your unfailing love and commitment to our family. You made life beautiful and through them you live on. You are missed and loved always.

It is with a great sorrow to just know about the passing of dear  Patrice Nérée and I would like to send my sincere-belated condolences to family and friends.
I met Patrice in Montreal back in 2001 and I am glad that I had the pleasure  of meeting such a great character.

Pat was a gentle sweet guy who I quickly became friends with at Stanislas in '91. A true gentleman and a scholar! I remember his smile that always light the room, and his drum set that he loved played in his basement. Being Pat's friend is nothing short of being blessed.

I will not remember you here, I will remember you everywhere. Your soul still shines in my heart, and in our children. I will love you for the rest of my life. 8 years ago, I met you. We saw each other and at first glance I knew you were the one. It sounds corny, like a fairy tale, but that was one small second in the fairytale we lived for 8 years to follow that day. 

I knew all the things you were and had so much hope for who you would become. The great caring and compassionate husband, an amazing father, triple blessed on our first birth. An amazing life partner and soul mate. Today, I want to remember the father you were and honor the father you still are as you stand before God in prayer.

I remember the first time I met your family. Pat had such a bright smile on his face, Rochelle was so welcoming, and the girls (at that time there was only 3 of them) where the cutest little things. I was blessed to work for this amazing family as their nanny. I wish the job could have lasted longer. I never forgot this family and tried to stay in contact.
  Pat was always so friendly, always smiling and always made me feel so comfortable. He was such an amazing father. I remember when we would all have dinner together. We would each have a baby on our laps & we would have a lovely dinner full of laughter. Pat was everything a good man should be. I feel blessed to have had the chance to know him.

It is so easy to focus on the things that God takes...the pain it causes, the tears we cry. When there are things that have taken our breath away, beauty, love, our children, our own lives. We often thank God for a brief second. Losing my husband is very easily the most painful thing I've ever went through. I will never really get over it. He was/is my entire world, outside of our children. Not to see his face each day is breaking my heart. But as I look through some of the pictures, through my tears I see all the days that were blessed. And all the magic that was left behind. There is hope. There is beauty both in present day and in yesterday. I will see my husband again. But until the day comes for me, I will thank God everyday for each day he has given with my husband and my children. I thank him for today, for the lives of my children. God always gives more than He takes, and what He takes, was always His to have. We are all His children and one day He will soften His sorrow a bit and call one of His beloved children home to His house. We have our faith, and for now we have each other. One day we will each enter our journey back to God, alone. We will be joined with God, who breathed life into us with dirt and Breath. Who loves us so much that He gave His son to die for us. And there will be so much love there to greet us. I pray God will place me next to my husband at His table. Until then, I live for our children.

I am so grateful to the friends and family who have signed this page, who have blessed our lives, and who have sent their prayers. I am not always strong, but I am always in an effort to be the best person I can be. If Pat taught us anything, I hope it is to be the best person you can be at the moment you can be it. Do not put off saying I'm sorry or I love you or I care for you. Don't let your life be run by regrets or fear, but by love for the life God has given each of us.

Its so hard for me to write this message. I am still in a shock of learning my friend, my model, and my example has passed away. I go to wish him a happy b-day on FB only to learn that he left us. I know he is in a better place. And I know he's with my dad. But its really hard to bear. Rochel and family... I am so sorry to hear and my heart and mind is with you for this loss. Words can't explain. He's so true... almost too good to be true. I am so sorry we did not meet again in this life in Ann Arbor in Nov of 2009 my brother. I can't wait to meet you again in my next life where I introduce you to my father. Rest in peace my brother. I miss you.

The day I met my husband was warm, sun was shining. It was an art gallery.  The first thing I noticed was his smile. Instantly I knew I would love him. Never before had I had the experience something so clear, something so perfect.
Everyday since for me has been like Christmas. The world has opened before my eyes with him. Nothing in my life will ever be the same. Not because I lost him, but because I loved him.
I have never known a love so great, so pure, or so beautiful. I spent some time angry at God. Angry to take something so wonderful from me, from our children. I was driving along alone, to a place we use to go. And a warmth came over me, I knew he was there. And I cried. Not the tears of anger, or pain. But tears of gratitude. 
Do not feel sorry for me, or yourselves, because God gave me Pat. I still can't believe how great God's love is for me, to have given me him. For one day, for one minute, how lucky am I? How lucky am I to have a love so great. He is my air, still. He is my heartbeat, always. I will never leave him, he will never leave me. There is a reason they do not call it â€œbody matesâ€. He will be dancing with my soul, when I sleep, when I wake, when I move when I die. God has given him to me. How great is our God. I know I will see him again, as sure as I know anything. We will be together, standing before God, thanking Him again for our love. 
Pat taught me more in our years together than I had known in my entire life before him. In his deepest pain, he could still find a smile somewhere inside him. One to share with me. 
I saw Pat's pain, yes it was there somewhere hidden under the beauty of our lives. I will take nothing of it with me, nor will he. All we will take is the beauty. The bible says we will leave behind sorrow, pain, suffering, but we will keep all that is beautiful in heaven.  I will share the beauty with him, in every story, every memory. 
How lucky am I to have his love and to watch our children each take their first breaths. He loved his life, every moment of it. And he LIVED his life. Exactly how he wanted to live. Can we all be so lucky? 
I am still amazed by God's love. I feel my husband all around me, he is with me. Always.
