

Raymond G. Falzon, age 88, of White Lake, passed away January 27, 2017. Beloved husband of Patricia. Loving father of Raymond L. (Annie) Falzon, Ron (Deborah) Falzon, Richard P. Falzon, Kathy (Vaughn) Mouradian and Karen Falzon. Proud grandfather of Kristina, Brie-Anna, Brittany, Ryan, Olivia and Evan. Treasured great-grandfather of Ryman. Dear brother of the late Lawrence Falzon.
Raymond G. Falzon was born in Detroit on July 3, 1928. He is the son of Lawrence T. Falzon & Jeannie C. DeJohn of Malta.
As a child, he went to Harms Elementary, Woodrow Wilson Jr. High and Cass Tech High School where he graduated with Honors in 1946. He later went to University of Detroit where he graduated in Mechanical Engineering with Honors in 1952. While he was in college, he was a sergeant in the ROTC.
While growing up in Detroit, he played hardball and was known as the “Green Avenue Flash” when pitching. He also was an avid fast pitch softball player. He enjoyed hockey and golfing. Following college, he was employed by GM and worked at the Proving Grounds in Milford and the Warren Tech Center. He had a very rewarding fulfilling career there for 31 years. He was a lifetime Automotive Engineer. He was most proud of his running Test Experimental Project. He was thrilled as he was the Chief Engineer for this project. He supervised 50 engineers including a future President of GM. While at GM, he was active in the golf league & softball team. He retired in 1983 after taking great pride in his career choice.
Additional hobbies included farming at his family farm. He enjoyed farming wheat and corn and again took great pride in yielding large crops.
Ray was also a wonderful painter and focused on nature scenes. He was very modest of his ability, as he preferred painting with palate knife.
Of all his interests, his favorite was hunting and fishing. He began hunting at age 10 with his grandfather, uncles & father at the family farm in Howell, Brighton, U.P, Cedarville, Lansing & Davison, Michigan.
He has hunted deer, pheasant & duck, & elk. He fished for Salmon, trout, perch, & Walleye. He could be found in Ludington, Lake Michigan, Lake St
Clair and Inland river lakes throughout Michigan. He can be remembered as an intelligent, loving son, husband, brother and father, grandfather, neighbor, friend, athlete & outdoorsman. He was warm, kind, friendly although shy at times. He was driven to succeed in work, family and in life in general. He believed in living life to the fullest.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 2, 2017 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm (Scripture Service 6:00pm) and Friday, February 3, 2017 from 10:00am until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00am at the Highland Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 3295 E. Highland Road, Highland. Burial will be held Friday, February 3, 2017 at 3:00pm at St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery, 6481 Faussett Road, Howell.
