Mr. Richard Lawrence Sebesta

Richard L. Sebesta, age 85 of White Lake, Michigan passed away peacefully on Friday, June 21, 2024. He was born in Detroit, Michigan to Frank and Anna Sebesta who preceded him in death. Richard was a loving, kind man and was a proud Navy Veteran serving on the USS Spikefish Submarine. When he was able, he enjoyed golfing, bowling, and shuffleboard with his family and friends. Richard was also a member of the Golden Age Club of Waterford and the submarine Vets-Escorlar Base. He retired from Ford Motor Company as a material handling and design engineer.

He was the cherished husband of Mary Jane for 62 years; loving father of Sharyl (Michael) Hatfield, Dawn (Klark) Koby, Mark (Sherry) Sebesta; grandfather of Andrew, Joe, Jack, David, Zach and Kyle; brother of Bob (Florence) Sebesta; brother-in-law of Bob (Cheryl) Malczyk, Cookie Devine, and Jane Malczyk; he had many loving nieces, nephews, and friends; he was preceded in death by brother in law Bill Devine.

The family will welcome visitors to come celebrate Richard’s life on Sunday, July 14, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm and on Monday July 15, 2024 from 10:00 am until the time of service. The memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 15, 2024 at the Highland Chapel of the Elton Black and Son Funeral Home, 3295 East Highland Rd., Highland, Michigan 48356.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and/or the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
