She was the heart of her home—steadfast, caring, and always putting others before herself. Her warmth, strength, and quiet resilience left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son Brian VanDam; her parents, Harold Sr. and Fannie Van Orman; and her brothers, Harold Jr. and David Van Orman.
Cathy is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Howard “Howie” VanDam, with whom she shared a lifetime of partnership, devotion, and countless memories. She is also survived by her son Todd, her daughter Michelle, and her cherished grandchildren Michael, Marissa, Lauren, Nick, Johnathon, and Brayden. Cathy took great joy in her role as a great-grandmother and adored her precious great-granddaughter Sylvia, who brought her immense happiness.
She is also lovingly remembered by her nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family, all of whom were touched by her kindness and generosity.
Cathy’s legacy is one of love, family, and quiet strength. She will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by all who knew her, especially by her devoted husband, Howie, whose life she shared for nearly six decades.
