CJ was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Cornelius (Neal) and Gertie Rus. He was married to Dorothy the love of his life for 63 years until her passing in 2014. CJ served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and attended Rose Park Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy, sister Henrietta (Rus) Bosma and brother Don Rus. CJ is survived by sons Jack and Scott Rus, grandson Brandon Rus, sister-in-law Ethel (Ray) Karsten, and by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 26 at 10 a.m. followed by the service to honor CJ’s life with military honors at Rose Park Baptist Church, 600 Butternut Dr., Holland. Burial will be at Pilgrim Home Cemetery in Holland.
