Cynthia “Cindy” Sue Jansma, loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on January 25, 2022. Four days later on January 29, William “Bill” Jansma, loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away unexpectedly, leaving everyone who knew them heartbroken.
Born on February 10, 1960 to Dave and Faye Stevens, Cindy loved vacations as a child to Crystal Lake. She graduated from Zeeland High School, and later graduated from Davenport University. After school, she married the love of her life, Bill Jansma, and together they would have a son, Seth. Seth was the light of Cindy’s life, and she did everything to support him. From vacations to Green Lake and Disney, to watching movies and sports together, Cindy and her family loved spending time together. When Seth was young, Cindy could be found cheering on the sidelines of his football games. An avid reader, it wasn’t unusual to find her curled up with a good book (especially Nora Roberts books). Whether it was light hearted sports betting with her sister Heidi, getting pedicures with her mom, or keeping up with the lives of her nieces and nephews, Cindy always had a big heart and an infectious laugh, and even though she left us too soon, we will never forget her.
Bill was born on November 30, 1959 to Cornelius and Dorothy Jansma. As a child, Bill spent his summers at Green Lake, horseback riding, swimming, waterskiing, and getting into mischief with his brothers and cousins. Bill was exceptionally talented on the water and had an unrivaled ability to barefoot waterski. Bill graduated from South Christian High School and then went on to college at Ferris State University. After school, Bill met the love of his life, Cindy at her cousin Deena’s wedding. They locked eyes from across the room, and were immediately smitten. Soon after, Bill and Cindy were married, and together had their son Seth, the joy of both of their lives. Bill couldn’t have been more proud of Seth. Being Seth’s dad was the highlight of Bill’s life. Together, the trio could be found spending summers at Green Lake, vacationing at Disney, watching all the latest movies and the Westminster Dog Show. Bill was an avid golfer. He loved playing the game and following all of the pros. The high point of his season every year was golfing in the “PMT Open” with family. Bill always carried the team with both his driving and putting abilities. Bill loved all dogs and most people. Bill cared about others more than himself. He was kind and tenderhearted, and genuinely wanted to know how you were doing. Thinking of Bill will always bring a smile to your face.
Cindy was preceded in death by her grandparents Glenn and Gladys Fynewever, ad Don and Marion Stevens.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife Cindy, parents, Cornelius and Dorothy Jansma, grandparents Nick and Anna Jansma, Bill and Cynthia Reus, and sister-in-law Ardis Jansma.
