Donald “Don” Lee Nauta, 80, passed away Friday, July 27, 2018, at Providence Healthcare in Zeeland following a long illness. He was born in Fruitport Township, Michigan to Andrew and Martha Nauta in 1937. He would serve in the U.S. Navy and come home to work in the Holland area where he retired from the Prince Corp. in 1999. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing for walleye and running his beagles along with his lifetime love of John Deere tractors.
Don is survived by his wife Pauline Nauta, children Ken and LuAnn Nauta of Zeeland, Sheryll Farraher of Jenison, Darlene and Doug Ringler of Howard City, Judy and Jimmy Cook of Hudsonville, Randy and Ellen Nauta of Hudsonville, and by step-son Brent and Kim Hassevoort of Hudsonville. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
A service to celebrate his life will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 30, at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James Street in Holland. Visitation will be 9:30-11 a.m. just prior to the service.
