

George was a member of Christ Memorial Church, where he joyfully served as a greeter for 25 years. While wintering in Florida, he attended Bayshore Chapel. He was a member of the Pioneer Village Shuffle Board Club. George was a veteran of the Army, having served during WWII. He was a business owner, mechanic, private pilot, and boat runner. George loved playing his harmonica and was a member of various musical groups including Corky’s Pals.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Gladys Kuiper, in 2009, brother Ken Kuiper, and grandson in law Andrew Van Beck.
He is survived by his children, Connie and Dale Van Dyk of Kalamazoo, Dave and Barb Kuiper of Holland, 4 grandchildren Doug and Christine Van Dyk, Kate Van Beck, Jodi Dougherty, Jeff and Mariela Kuiper, great grandchildren Isaac, Katie Joy, Justin, Samantha, Celia, William, Daniel, Javier, and Nayeli, siblings Harold and Joyce Kuiper, Ron and Donna Kuiper, Lillian Kuiper, Julie (Alvin, dec.) Meiste, and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to Resthaven Care Community, 948 Washington Ave., Holland, MI 49423, and Hospice of Holland, 270 Hoover Blvd., Holland, MI 49423.
The Kuiper family would like to thank the community of Resthaven and Hospice of Holland for the exceptional love and care given to George.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00pm, Friday, October 7, 2016, at Christ Memorial Church, 595 Graafschap Road in Holland. Reverend William Boersma will be officiating. Burial will be in East Saugatuck Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00pm, Thursday, October 6, 2016, at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James Street in Holland.
