Gordon Jay Whitney

Born in Vestaburg, MI, 1932 to Ernest and Mable Whitney, Gordon made his family proud by attaining his higher education goals. He received his Associates Degree from Ferris State and then went to Western University where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Gordon went on to enjoy his Engineering career for 40 years. He also faithfully served his country by serving in the US Air force. Gordon married the love of his life, Judith on August 25, 1956.

He is preceded in death by his son in law, Tonie Machurick.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Judy; children, Deborah Machurick, Michael (Ann) Whitney, Lisa (Danny) Jacobsen; grandchildren, Laura (Garrett) Zick, Mellissa (David) Lucas, Steven Machurick, Courtney Hoover, Sarah Whitney; and 5 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will begin at 12:00pm, Monday, June 29, 2015, at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 Holland, MI, with a reception to follow. Chaplain Caleb Walcott will be officiating.

Visitation will take place from 11:00am-12:00pm, on Monday, June 29, 2015, at Lakeshore Memorial Services.

Burial will be at 2:30pm, Monday, June 29, 2015, at Pilgrim Home Cemetery, Holland, MI.
