Joyce E. Koopman, age 87 (March 22, 1934 – May 20, 20210) and Irwin Koopman age 91 (Nov. 6, 1929 – May 21, 2021) of Zeeland, passed away in Zeeland, 1 day apart from each other after 68 years of marriage.
Joyce, who was born in Grand Rapids, MI to Phillip and Johanna (Terpstra) De Back, and Irwin who was also born in Grand Rapid to John and Den (VanDerRiet) Koopman. They were devoted members of Holland First Assembly of God. Joyce worked as a volunteer at Butterworth Hospital for many years, and Irwin worked as a painter for Grand Rapids Public Schools and also home painting for most of his career
They are survived by 3 children Sue (Tim) Lubbers, Bob (Laurie) Koopman, and James (Janice) Koopman; grandchildren, Doug, Kim, Matt, Joshua, and Michell; great grandchildren Audrey, Jackson, Tegan, Kirsten, Braden, Aislan, and Landon; many extended family and friends.
A service to celebrate Joyce and Irwin’s life will be at 11am, Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Holland First Assembly of God, 1331, E. 16th St. Holland.
