

She was born on August 23, 1945, in Hudsonville to Dick and Cornelia Ver Hage. Karen graduated from Western Michigan University, where she received her Bachelor's Degree. She worked as a Supervisor at the Holland Post Office for many years and five years as Postmaster in Douglas, MI. Karen was a generous, kind, compassionate woman. She will be deeply missed by dear friends and family.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Dick and Cornelia Ver Hage and her brother, Richard Ver Hage.
Karen is survived by her sisters, Gloria (Tom) Pratt, Alma (Dan) Gietzen, sister-in-law Barbara Ver Hage, special friend Patsy Myaard, 9 nieces and nephews who she dearly loved, and her beloved dog, Koda, who never left her side in her final days.
The family would like to give a very special thanks to Dr. Batts and the staff at The Cancer & Hematology Center as well as the staff at Elara Hospice for their loving care of Karen during the last week of her life.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Elara Hospice.
There will be no services. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
