Ken DeVries, Age 76, was suddenly called to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 11, 2021. He is now reunited with his loving wife, Helen, who passed away on December 22, 2020. His parents, John and Marian DeVries also preceded him in death.
Ken grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan, attended Grand Rapids Christian High School and graduated with a Business Degree from Davenport College. Ken spent the majority of his career working at Holland Motor Freight, now called USF Holland. During his career, he was the recipient of many local, state, and national awards. His work ethic, likable personality, and sense of humor endeared him to everyone he met. Ken’s life was made better when spending time with his family, sibling cruises, playing golf, cheering on the GVSU football team, and sharing winter life with his friends in Mercedes, Texas.
Left behind to remember and celebrate his life are his cherished daughter, Jane Baker, treasured son Jack (Michelle DeVries), and his precious grandchildren, Mitchell (Alexa) Baker, Nicholas Baker, Rachel Baker, and Jocelyn DeVries. He will be greatly missed by his siblings, Bob (Susan) DeVries, Marilyn (Don) Strobel, and Doug (Diane) DeVries. He leaves behind several nieces and nephews as well as many loyal friends.
Funeral services will be on Friday, February 26, at 11:00am at Central Wesleyan Church,446 W 40th Street in Holland. Please use Parking Lot 4 and use Entrance Door D. Pastor Larry Johnson will be officiating.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 25, 2021 from 6:00-8:00pm at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James Street in Holland.
