Born November 17, 1917, and raised in Sault Saint Marie, Michigan, Leonard was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in the South Pacific.
After a few years as a lineman for Ohio Edison, he moved his young family to Douglas, Michigan, to assist his in-laws in establishing the “MacArthur Boat Yard”.
The family moved to California where both Leonard and Beryl worked at Aero Space Industry, in El Segundo, California. Retired from Aero Space Industry, after over 18 years, Leonard and Beryl moved to Palm Desert, California and then to Sun City Center, Florida.
Leonard was preceded in death by his wife, Beryl, of 53 years, on April 8, 1993.
Survivors include his daughters, Laurie Moore of Holland, Michigan, and Vickie Sterkenburg of Arkansas; grandchildren Michael and James Moore, of Michigan, and Lenetta Sterkenburg, of Arizona; great grandchildren, Jimmy Moore, and Nikolai Lefko; and Leonard’s sister, Elsie Didado of Laguna Woods, CA.
