Marcia Eileen Kotman, age 77, passed into the arms of Jesus on March 7, 2026, at 9:59 a.m. Marcia was a warm and loving presence in the lives of those who knew her, and she will be deeply missed by family and friends alike.
Born June 10, 1948, Marcia graduated from Blodget School of Nursing in 1969. On August 30, 1969, she married the love of her life, Larry Kotman. Some years later, she continued her education and earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Grand Valley State University.
Marcia devoted many years to home health, caring for a wide range of patients with steady compassion and skill. Her work reflected the loveable, caring, and stubborn spirit that her family came to know so well—qualities that shaped her life and left a lasting impression on everyone around her.
In 1985, Marcia and Larry moved to Hudsonville, Michigan. Together with her husband and four children, they spent the next 40 years in Hudsonville, building a life rooted in commitment, family, and care. Marcia deeply loved and cared for her sons, and she cherished becoming a grandmother when that time came.
Among the fondest memories shared is Marcia and Larry’s trip to Finland, where they made many great memories and enjoyed new freedom after graduation—an experience remembered with gratitude and warmth.
Marcia is survived by her husband, Larry Kotman; her sons, Matthew (Kris) Kotman, Michael (Carolyn) Kotman, Peter (Kelli) Kotman, and Stuart Kotman; her grandchildren, Leah, Hannah, and Avery; her sister, Jan (Jerry) Van Veen; her sister, Sandy (Bill) Vis; her brother, Dean (Rose) Ellens; her sister, Brenda (Dick) Prince; her sister-in-law, Scoob Ellens; her sister-in-law, Joan (Mark) Joldersma; her brother-in-law, Les (Marianne) Kotman; her brother-in-law, Glenn (Betty) Kotman; her sister-in-law, Karen (Steve) DeHaan; her brother-in-law, Dave (Nancy) Kotman; and her brother-in-law, Loren (Norma) Kotman.
