

Marilyn was a longtime member of St. Alphonsus Parish, where she regularly attended bible study. She was an avid quilter and reader. Marilyn had a long career in nursing, and she had a special passion for children.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Frederick and Lucille Milhaupt; and siblings Fred, Rosemary (George) Brown, and Sister Jean Milhaupt, OP.
She is survived by her devoted husband Larry Hefferan; children, Patricia (Mark) Harmsen, Mike (Judy) Hefferan, Brian (Lynn) Hefferan, Jane (Dean) Bissell, Paul (Lori) Hefferan, Karen (Chris) Goebel, Kathy (Pedro) Alcocer, and Jenny Hefferan; brother John (Peg) Milhaupt; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00am, Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at St. Alphonsus Church, 224 Carrier St., NE, Grand Rapids.
Visitation will be at St. Alphonsus Church Monday, October 24 from 7-9:00pm, Rosary at 8:30pm. There will be a second visitation on Tuesday at 10:00 am prior to the funeral Mass.
Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Wyoming.
Memorial contributions may be made to Right to Life of Michigan, St. Alphonsus Parish, or to the Arthritis Foundation.
The family would like to thank Faith Hospice, Rachel Adams, Thea Wurm, and Rob Bergman for the care they gave to Marilyn.
