Paul Robert Steimle Jr., age 88, of Holland died peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, April 9, 2019. He leaves behind the love of his life, his wife of 67 years, Sylvia (Harris) Steimle, son Russell (Tina) Steimle of Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, daughters Judy (Kevin) Becker of Holland and Autumn (Terry) Bosch of Manitowoc, Wisconsin, 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, sister Phyllis Orcutt of Grand Rapids, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. After growing up in Grand Rapids, Paul enrolled at Ferris State University to study pharmacy. After graduation, he served his country in the Korean War. Following his service he returned to Holland and spent most of his career working as a pharmacist. During his retirement he enjoyed volunteering his time distributing bibles as a member of the Gideon’s organization. He was a life-long member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Holland. He was an avid train collector and photographer, and he enjoyed gardening and playing China Wall in his spare time. A memorial service for Paul will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at 10:00 am at Immanuel Baptist Church, 325 104th Ave. in Holland with Pastor Bob Terpstra and Pastor Alyn Goossen officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Holland Rescue Mission.
