Abel Roberto Garcia

Abel Roberto Garcia was born on October 21, 1952, in Havana, Cuba, where he lived with his parents Abelardo Garcia and Lucila Negrin and his older brother Daniel until the 2nd of June 1962 when the family left for the United States. After a short stay in Florida, the family moved to Elizabeth,

N.J. where Abel went to grammar school and graduated

from Jefferson H.S. He later enrolled in The New Jersey Institute of Technology graduating with a degree in Mechanical engineering. He worked for Union Carbide for 20 years. During which period married Donna Karlik. The couple later divorced.

After moving to Florida, Abel worked as a software engineer for Microsoft and later established his own company Opatech. A humble man, one of his biggest enjoyments was sitting at the beach. On April 27, 2025, after a long battle with cancer, Able went to the Lord on a Divine Mercy Sunday.

He is survived by his beloved brother and best friend Daniel and his wife Virginia, his nieces Lourdes, ,Virginia and Clara, his step nephew Kenny, his grand nephews Hudson, Harry and Henry and his beloved stepdaughter Natalie.

May the Lord lift your soul and give you rest Abel, you will be missed terribly.

A visitation for Abel will be held Tuesday, May 6, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Fred Hunter's Funeral Home, 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, FL 33024. A religious ceremony will occur Wednesday, May 7, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM, 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, FL 33024. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, May 7, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Fred Hunter's Hollywood Memorial Gardens North., 3001 N 72nd Ave, Hollywood, FL 33024.
