Alan was born on April 2,1942 in New York City, New York, son of Harry and Jeanette (Kenna) Kehrer. Alan Lawrence Kehrer was the retired Director of Passenger Development for Port Everglades. A recipient of the Seafarer's House Golden Compass Award, he was considered by many to have been a pioneer of the South Florida cruise industry, as he spearheaded efforts to expand Port Everglades into the major cruise port that it has become.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Linda Mary Kehrer.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa (Kehrer) Black of Tallahassee, Florida; son, Matthew Kehrer of Vero Beach, Florida; grandchildren, Fred William and Olivia Linda; brother Gary Kehrer.
