

Anna Schwenne Simbole passed away on March 19, 2014 after a brief fight with cancer. Born January 19, 1952 in St. Louis, MO, she attended Meramec Community College there and entered Federal Civil Service with the US Department of Agriculture; later in 1985 she accepted a position with the United States Department of Justice in Washington, DC. She retired April 3, 2007 with 36 years of service in the United States Government. Anna lived with her husband, Bernard J. Simbole in Arlington, VA for 23 years before moving to Ft. Lauderdale, FL in 2009.
Anna was best known for her wit and her caring devotion to all her friends and family. She is survived by her husband; sister in law Doris Delane; nephews Dean and Lance Delane; nieces Jodi Hammond, Kim Hezel and Jeri Linn Howard and several grand nephews and nieces. She leaves behind a long list of close friends in St. Louis, MO, Arlington, VA, Washington, DC and Ft. Lauderdale, FL. In addition, Courson, Saoirse, Tallulah, and Malachy Henderson will always remember Anna affectionately as "Mimi". Anna is a parishioner of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Ft. Lauderdale.
A Funeral Mass will be held for her at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 901 NE 2nd St., Ft. Lauderdale, 33301 on Monday, March 24, 2014 at 10:00 am. A Funeral Mass will also be held at a later date in the St. Louis area when arrangements are completed and announced to friends and family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to one of Anna's favorite charities; Tuesday's Angels, 1994 E. Sunrise Blvd., PMD 139, Ft.
