

Anne Marie Laurenceau Richardson, age 91, passed away on August 29, 2023, at her home in Hollywood, Florida, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on July 26, 1932, in Port au Prince, Haiti. Anne Marie was the beloved wife of the late Bernex Emmanuel Richardson, the love of her life, whom she had been married to for 42 years.
Her journey in life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family and her passion for children. In 1963, she moved to Brooklyn, New York, with her three youngest boys while the others were attending boarding school in Port au Prince. Prior to leaving her homeland, Anne Marie was a teacher at Fermathe, Haiti. In 1981, she relocated to North Miami and continued her career working with children. Anne Marie retired as a daycare assistant in Hollywood, where her nurturing and loving nature left a lasting impact on the lives of many children.
Anne Marie was a woman of remarkable character and had a heart full of love. Those who knew her best would describe her as loving, kind, funny, determined, hardworking, religious, and giving. Her family was her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Anne Marie is survived by her children: Guithele (Richardson) Ruiz-Nicolas (Harold), Kathleen Richardson (Retz), Karlie Richardson, Mark Richardson (Nikki), Harvey Richardson (Angela), Sabine Hawkins (Robert), Kimberly Richardson, and James Richardson (Kerry). She was predeceased by her sons Alex Richardson and Ralph Richardson as well as her grandson, Andrew Ruiz, Sr. . Anne Marie will also be lovingly remembered by her 16 grandchildren: Gina Clavier, Karline Altemar, Marc Richardson, Bernex Richardson, Joanna Staten, Luigi Altemar, Robert Richardson, Kyle Richardson, Mariah Richardson, Netanya Hogu, Tatiana Mighty, Asia Hawkins, Ashley Mighty, Tierra Hawkins, Shawn Richardson, Mio Richardson, and Sincere Hawkins. Her 9 great-grandchildren include Andrew Ruiz Jr., Isaac Ruiz, Jaylyn Staten, Janyla Staten, Jones, Xavier Ruiz, Cali Jones, Chance Jones, Amina Richardson, Saige Stone, and Taelynn Jacobs.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023, from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Fred Hunters Funeral Home, located at 2401 S University Dr., Davie, FL 33324.
