Anthony proudly served in the United States Army, an experience that reflected his lifelong sense of duty, discipline, and honor. After his military service, he came to Florida in 1968, where he built not only a life, but a lasting presence through nearly five decades of dedication to his business. For 49 years, he proudly operated as a Mobil Oil Corporation dealer, becoming a familiar and respected figure in the Hollywood area, particularly at the corners of 441 & Stirling Road and University Drive. His commitment, reliability, and strong work ethic earned him the trust of customers and the admiration of those who knew him.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Anthony’s greatest pride was his family. He shared over 56 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Kathleen, creating a life centered on love, loyalty, and partnership. Together, they raised three children—his sons, Anthony Jr. (and his wife, Viviana) and Jamie, and his daughter, Josephine—all born and raised in Florida, instilling in them the same values of dedication and family that Anthony lived by every day.
His legacy continues through his six grandchildren—Joseph (and his wife, Madeline), Anthony III (and his fiancée, Stephanie), Nickolas, Ronan, Marcelo, and Antonella—all born in Florida—and his cherished great-grandson, Joseph Anthony “JoJo.” Anthony was a proud patriarch whose presence will be deeply missed but forever felt in the lives of those who carry on his name and traditions.
Anthony is reunited in heaven with his beloved granddaughter, Mia; his father, Gaspare; his mother, Josephine; his brother, Steven (and his wife, Eileen); and his sister, Frieda (and her husband, Steve).
Anthony Maltese Sr. will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to his family, his service to his country, his enduring work ethic, and the meaningful life he built in the community he called home.
