Barbara A. (Bellanger) Atchison, 89, of Davie, Florida, passed away on Sunday evening, March 5, 2023. Barbara was a resident of South Florida for over 50 years. She was born on October 22,1933, in Pleasantville, New Jersey, daughter of the late Leo and Ellen (Virginia) Bellanger. Barbara was employed over the years at the National Institutes of Health, Pentagon, and CarePlus among others.
Barbara was a dedicated and devoted Christian and was an active member of Grace Family Worship Center. She enjoyed bowling, singing, reading, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten by her many friends and family.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Gerald (Gerry) Atchison, brother Frank Bellanger, and sister Jeanette Long. She is survived by her sister, Naomi (Puddy) Swan, children and their spouses (Kenneth, Kelly, Kevin, Kara, and Keith and daughter-in-law Nelsa and Kimberly and son-in-law Richard) and more than18 grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, March 26, at 3pm at the Fred Hunter’s Funeral Home, 2401 South University Drive, Davie, FL. 33324.
