Betty Jane Webber, age 97, passed away peacefully at her residence in John Knox Village on May 11, 2017. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Charles "Charlie" Webber, and sisters Martha Kohl and Winifred Gress. A native of Dayton, Ohio, Betty graduated from Fairview High School in 1938. She met Charlie in church, married in 1940, and later moved to Hollywood, Florida in 1950. Betty was an active member at First Baptist Church of Hollywood for over 50 years, singing in the choir and participating in mission work. She loved the Lord, spending time with family and friends, enjoyed the beach, square dancing, quilting and entertaining. Upon Charlie's retirement from the U.S. Postal Service, they cherished summers spent at their cabin in the North Carolina mountains.
Betty is survived by her 2 daughters, Charlyn Walker (Kent), Wendy Klemann (Bob), and a son Charles "Chuck" Webber, Jr. (Pat); 4 grandchildren, James Walker (Jennifer), Glenn Walker (Karin), Courtney Kicklighter (James), and Tyler Klemann; and 6 great-grandchildren, Abram Walker, Cameron Walker, Kelty Walker, Shelby Walker, Kayla Kicklighter and Jax Kicklighter.
A memorial service is planned for Betty on June 16th at 1 pm in the chapel of The Woodlands building at John Knox Village, Pompano Beach, FL. All are welcome.
