MITCHELL, Blanche, 94, of North Miami went to be with the Lord Aug. 16, 2010. Blanche was born in Whitney Co., KY. She was one of 13 children and began teaching in a 1 room school house. She retired from teaching after 35 years. As a young teacher on Miami Beach she met a handsome young police officer named Bob who would become her husband. Blanche was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. "Nanny" was never to busy to care for her grandchildren and gave them lots of love and guidance. She was deeply religious and regularly prayed for family and friends. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her children Robert Mitchell & Colleen Mauer; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; brothers Kenneth Davis & Dr. Franklin Davis. Visitation will be held Friday 6:00-8:00 PM at Fred Hunter Funeral Home, 2401 S. University Drive, Davie, FL. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at Miami Shores Presbyterian Church followed by interment at Flagler Memorial Park.
