Bryan was born in Connellsville, Pennsylvania to Kenneth S. and Faye Mayo Hobbs on April 20, 1946. He met the love of his life, Annabel Hollandsworth Hobbs, when they were in middle school. He asked her to marry him on Christmas 1967, and they began their married life 55 years ago on June 1, 1968 in Beckley, West Virginia. They joyfully had two daughters together, Heather Leutzinger and Wendy Riggott. Bryan loved to fish, read, travel (especially cruising), and spending time with family and friends.
Bryan began his career as a middle school teacher and then felt called into the ministry in his mid-twenties. He first pastored in three churches in Key
West and then Holy Sacrament Episcopal Church in Pembroke Pines for almost 25 years. In 1991 he began working on his Doctorate of Ministry at Fuller Seminary and graduated several years later. Bryan was called by Bishop Leo Frade to be his Archdeacon of Congregational Development in 2003. In this capacity he helped many struggling parishes find direction through the Nehemiah Process that he established throughout the diocese.
Bryan retired in 2016 after 39 years as an Episcopal priest. In retirement, Bryan and Annabel enjoyed many cruises, as well as many trips abroad.
Bryan had a very generous heart and served others through volunteering at a local homeless shelter serving meals. He went on many international missions trips throughout his time in the diocese and started Friends Reaching Friends mission program at Holy Sacrament Episcopal Church.
Bryan was a devoted and very supportive husband to his wife Annabel and cared for her through many health struggles over the years.
Bryan was a man of God who has a very personal relationship with Jesus. He dedicated much of his life to helping others to know Jesus personally as well. It gives the family great comfort to know that he is now with Jesus face to face.
