Catherine spent her early years in Jamaica. She was working in
her aunt's bakery/cook shop when she met and fell in love with
her childhood sweetheart, Winston Theophilus Daley. Years
later, they were both joined in marriage on Feb 7, 1968. Catherine
and her husband raised two children, Ingrid and Glen Daley.
Catherine migrated to the United States in 1958 in search of a
better life for herself and her family, they would soon follow after.
She worked for a while in the home of a prominent lawyer and
during that tenure, they gained complete trust for each other.
Being very ambitious, and her goal still foremost on her mind,
Catherine sought further opportunities and was soon an employee
of Memorial Health Care System. Again a faithful and trust
worthy employee, she retired 35 years later.
A God-fearing woman, who accepted Jesus Christ as Savior since
her youth, Catherine joined the Hallandale Church Of God family
in 1972 under Bishop James Campbell. She was eager to serve and
that she did with a committed heart for 32 years! Catherine loved
the Lord and His people and developed many long lasting
friendships and fond memories, of which she often shared.
In 2004, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, she joined
Faith and Life Fellowship Ministries under the leader ship of
Pastor, Rev. Dr. Hamilton W. Taitt where she was also an active
member until her passing.
Two of her greatest joys in life were helping others and prayer.
Catherine served on the Hospitality team, ushering and serving
the community through the Food Distribution Ministry. She
never missed one day from Sunday services, Bible studies or
the food ministry, a ministry which served every Saturday for
several years. During FLFM Annual Christmas Gala in December
of 2018, Catherine was recognized and awarded for "Outstanding
Citizenship"
Catherine was an avid prayer worrier, and made it a point to pray
not only for the church and it's needs, but also called members
name in prayer daily. In the early years of the church, she was
the only member on many days, to attend "Noon Day Prayer"
along with her pastor, the late Bishop Hamilton W. Taitt.
On Mother's Day 2019, Catherine Daley was esteemed with the
honor of "Mother of the Church - "Mother Daley"
Catherine was a true servant of God and she served with fervor,
although she was faced with serious health challenges of her own.
