Clemence Adrienne Berry

Clemence Adrienne Berry Giraud, 74, of Davie, Florida, passed away June 30, 2015, after fighting a combination of ailments.

Viewing will be held at Fred Hunters Funeral Home, located at 2401 S. University Drive, Davie, FL, on Tuesday, July 7, 2015, from 6:00-8:00 pm. There will also be a mass held on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 10:00 am at Saint David Catholic Church, 3900 S. University Drive, Davie, FL

Clemence was born in Grand Fond, Saint Barthelemy, FWI, on November 1, 1940, the fourth of seven children of Philippe and Clarestine Berry. She and her future husband, Vincent Giraud, Sr., grew up together in the friendly island of Saint Barth's. After falling in love, they moved to Florida where they were married on June 6, 1964. More than a year later, their first child, Marylou Daniele, was brought into their life, followed 11 months later by Alain Paul. Their family only grew from there; five years later, Vincent, Jr., was born. Clemence was a compassionate mother and wife; after raising her children for the first ten years of their lives, she began working at Jefferson's. Later on, Clemence continued her career at retailers including K-Mart, JC Penney, Upton's and Walgreen's, after which she retired. In joining her husband's retirement, Clemence and Vincent, Sr., began to travel to Barth's more often, spending half of the year on the island and the other half in Florida. Clemence was a resident of South Florida for the past 51 years, and was a committed member of Saint David Catholic Church.

Clemence was a giving, nurturing, loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and neighbor. She was a dedicated wife, consistently caring for her husband throughout their marriage. She was always there for her children and was more than willing to help them in raising her grandchildren. Her kindheartedness reflected in her love of nature; she took joy in feeding squirrels and birds every day at her home. Clemence always looked on the bright side of any situation that life would throw at her, and her positivity was contagious and brought a smile to anyone's face.

Clemence is survived by her husband of 51 years, Vincent Giraud, Sr., her children; Marylou Daniele Carlisle, Alain Giraud and Vincent Giraud, Jr., her sister, Rita Berry, her brothers; Heribert Berry, Roger Berry, Leon Berry and Edmond Berry, her five grandchildren; Ashley Carlisle, Kyle Giraud, Adrianna Carlisle, Katie Giraud, and Brody Jay,

Clemence was preceded in death by her sister, Odette Brin, and her parents Philippe and Clarestine Berry.
