

The funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Friday, July 7th at St. David’s Catholic Church, 3900 S University Dr, Davie, FL 33328. Reverend Steven O’hala of St. David’s will be officiating. Visitation for private family viewing will be held on July 6th, at 3:00pm following an open viewing from 4-8:00pm for all family and friends at Fred Hunter’s Davie. Burial will follow the funeral at South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, FL at 1:30pm Funeral arrangements are being handled by Fred Hunter’s Davie.
Charles was born in the Bronx, New York on September 7th, 1928. He was a 1st generation American born from German Immigrants. He graduated from Seminary High School in 1946 and continued to receive a Criminal Justice Degree from San Diego State University.
Charles was married to Sarah Annette Lane on March 24th, 1956 they were married over 50 years.
Charles, after enlisting as a private in 1949 retired as a Colonel from United States Marine Corps after 30 years of service. He fought in the Korean War and did two tours in Vietnam. He was decorated with 2 Legion of Merits with the V devise, 3 Bronze Stars w/V, Joint Service Commendation Medal and 2 Purple hearts. He served his country faithfully and was a true & ardent patriot. He relocated to Miami, FL w/ family and worked as security director for Omni Hotel Miami. In 1981 he became the Managing Director for Grove Isle in Coconut Grove, Miami until his retirement in 1996. Charles was a lifelong NY Yankees fan. He enjoyed turtles, horticulture, theology and history. He absolutely loved spending time with his family and friends and was a true family man.
Charles is survived by his children Mark, Michael (Debbie) & Michele, grandchildren Michael (Ashley) & Christian (Brittany), great grandchildren Kyla & Presley, his nieces Margot Morrissey and Joan McAllister of Yonkers NY. And several great nieces and nephews. As well as other family and friends.
Charles is preceded in death by his wife Annette, parents Erik & Maria, Sisters Margot & Ruthie.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. The family of Colonel Charles K. Breslauer wishes to thank Fred Hunter’s Davie, St. David’s Catholic Church, Franklin Hospice Care, Major Joe Featherston USMC Ret. And the South Florida National Cemetery for all the help in honoring and helping in Charles celebration of life.
